What is Asbestos?
Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral that was widely used in building materials for decades because it was strong, heat resistant, and inexpensive.
Its use was gradually phased out due to government legislation in the 1970s and 1980s by the EPA, but homes and commercial buildings throughout Northwest Arkansas built before the mid-1980s still have asbestos-containing building materials.
